JDCServe is a threaded server program written in Java that implements the DirectConnect filesharing protocol. It requires the Java Runtime Environment or the GNU Compiler for Java (GCJ). It is distributed under the GPL.
This software is in its early stages, and does not yet fully implement the DirectConnect protocol. It also has some bugs, the most blaring being:
- Inefficient and possibly dangerous thread handling
- Incomplete protocol implementation
- Hardcoded configuration variables
